Artist's Comments

One of my last assignments in AP art. I had to draw something in the style of another artist. So I chose Edward Hopper's "Nighthawks"; one of my favorite pieces of American art.

I put a sort of space-alien twist to it. ;P

You can see a certain alien detective seated up front. And I put a shark-guy in there as a kind of tribute to :iconnakkistiltz: Oliver. I like that guy. :D

I worked long and hard on this one. Hope ya like!

We had a similar assignment in my AP art class, except we had to replicate a portrait by a famous artist, replacing the person in the portrait with ourselves. I did American Gothic - there's a photo of it in my gallery.

That's pretty interesting. :D I would have made this an actual painting, but I was pretty pressed for time so I just whipped it out on the tablet. Kinda cheating, but oh well. :XD:
